Why welfare and social security do not work

Why don't we look at Europe and learn what NOT to do. European countries keep raising taxes and increasing welfare. How does that affect the employment rate? Take a look.

We need to decrease taxes and encourage a business climate. If I were the President, I would just point to Europe. I also encourage everyone to go to the econopundit on my link field. It breaks down the numbers in this article.

Please read this and tell me that I am wrong. I don't think you can.

Enjoy!

Europe has made two contributions to political thought in the 20th century: fascism and communism. Why would we ever go to them for advice? Or at the very least, why would we consider their model to be superior to suggestions made by thinking civic-minded Americans?

(Actually, that's not precisely true; the idea of communism was formulated and tried by the Pilgrims. It failed miserably. Marx just didn't get the memo.)

To N.W.,

I believe the Incans "invented" communism, not the Pilgrims.

Is 'anonymous' by any chance Irene Silverblatt? Or have you just been reading "Moon, Sun, and Witches"?
